Outdoor Sculpture, Public Art:

The Landmark Society of Western New York selected McKay Lodge Conservation to receive a 2017 Award of Merit for our help on the Statue of Liberty replica located in Oatka Creek Park, in Le Roy, New York. Conservator of Sculpture, Monuments, and Fountains, Thomas Podnar was on a team of advisors chosen to work on preserving the statue.

From the Landmark Society’s Annual Preservation Awards announcement “the rehabilitation of Le Roy, New York‘s Statue of Liberty replica – one of the few surviving from a nationwide campaign in honor of the Boy Scouts of America‘s 40th Anniversary in the 1950s – has won one of our 2017 Awards of Merit.”

The project was one of the most unusual and fun things we have done. Please follow the link below to learn more.
